Clara Chew
Project: GPS Reflections Degree: PhD Clara graduated with a BA in environmental studies from Dartmouth College in 2009. She is interested in hydrology and currently studies how GPS multipath signals can be used to infer near-surface soil moisture content. Her work combines computer modeling of surface reflections from GPS satellites and field measurements of soil moisture and vegetative biomass. More Info » Peter Shellito
Project: Soil Hydraulic Properties Degree: PhD Peter graduated from Dartmouth College with an AB in environmental earth sciences in 2009. He has since worked as a volunteer teacher and as an engineering technician. His interests lie in understanding and modeling the water and energy fluxes that constitute the terrestrial water cycle. His work combines remotely-sensed data with ground-based measurements to improve estimates of soil hydraulic properties (SHPs). Hydrologic land surface models use SHPs in assessing droughts, floods, and climate change. More Info » |
